A Second Helping

By COD

This is the second recording facilitated by the inimitable Hal Abbot (The First having been "COD A Small Portion featuring Mick Fleetfish who, along with the master tapes, was sadly lost in a Welsh trout stream nearly two decades ago) "A Second Helping" was  the first COD recording to feature Roshti Von Swordfisher.

Two Monkeys

An ode to schizophrenia written by Brine and a friend!

View lyrics

Stop looking so surprised, it's not a Mars attack
It's just two monkeys and they are fighting on my back
One speaks in colours but the other paints it black
And they confuse me with their facts

Bi polar expedition mounting in my mind
And those two monkeys, they are never far behind
I climb the highest peaks and fall into the trough

And then they tell me that I'm lost
And then they tell me that I'm lost
And then they tell me that I'm lost
And then they tell me that I'm lost

Now those two monkeys, they have broken my guitar
I always trust them, but they always go too far
I climb the highest peaks and fall into the trough

And then they tell me that I'm lost
And then they tell me that I'm lost
Two monkeys fighting on my back
Two monkeys fighting on my back

Three Second memory

A happy little love song by Bob.

View lyrics

All dressed up in your silk parachute
Designer labels and a barcode on your collar
One hand on the bottle and the other's on the phone
Behaving like some useless multi coloured plastic toy

Smiling like a predator you blow your pheromones around the room
So men become sub-human and they forget their early warnings
They act like Pavlov's dogs at the merest mention of your name
Don't tell me you can live your life looking out from artificial eyes

Is there anything you do care about
I bet you don't need drugs to sleep at night
Is there anything you feel that lasts for long
Three second memory and it's gone

You don't want to talk about it, that would be a weakness you can't have
Everybody's stupid because everybody's not as good as you
You can simply write it off the bad things are not your fault
Sometimes life is precious but you just see a box of rocks and stones

Is there anything you do care about
I bet you don't need drugs to sleep at night
Is there anything you feel that lasts for long
Three second memory and it's gone

Cold Dreams

Cold cold dreams for breakfast baby You should have been protected baby But now you've lost your spark I told you not to park in the war zone,

View lyrics

Down, down, down, to a dirty little room
Some creatures there
Wrapped up warm in their cocoon
The lights are low, sickly sweet smell in the air
You say hello, but it's not as if you're there.

Cold cold dreams for breakfast baby
You should have been protected baby
But now you've lost your spark
I told you not to park in the war zone,
Cold cold dreams for breakfast baby
You should have been selective (maybe)
But that was not your style
You were still a child in a sweet shop.

Wait so long hot excitement in your veins
When it comes things will never be the same
But now I think that you might have gone too far
A tube up your nose makes you look just like a star.

Cold cold dreams for breakfast baby
You should have been protected baby
But now you've lost your spark
I told you not to park in the war zone.
Cold cold dreams for breakfast baby
You were such a pretty baby. Now you won't get old
There was no pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.
(they sold you)
Your new friends left you in a corridor
Golden hair makes a pattern on the floor
Up, up, up, up, and over down and out
Like all bad dreams you are silent as you shout.

Cold cold dreams for breakfast baby
You should have been protected baby
But now you've lost your spark
I told you not to park in the war zone
Cold cold dreams for breakfast baby
You should have been selective
(maybe)
But that was not your style
You were still a child in a sweet shop

So pretty in your paper gown-
Maybe you're sleeping.
No one else can let you down-
You were worth keeping.

Cold cold dreams for breakfast baby
You should have been protected baby
But now you've lost your spark
I told you not to park in the war zone
Cold cold dreams for breakfast baby
You should have been selective
(maybe)
But that was not your style
You were still a child in a sweet shop

Cold cold dreams for breakfast baby
You were such a pretty baby
Now you won't get old
There was no pot of gold
at the end of the rainbow.
(they sold you)
