Brine E. C.
Guitarfish
Meet Brine E.C. AKA “Brine Sturgeon” The Artist Formerly known as Steve, flounder member songwriter and eclectrical guitarfish out of somewhat hard to categorise but perhaps psychedelic rock ensemble COD.
Easily traversing the full range of popular musical styles from Prog Rock to, erm, other types of rock, this multi-instrumentalist polymath can play all 6 of the guitars that he owns (apart from the slidy one.) And, after only a week mastered both F and C7 on the ukulele. Unencumbered by fame or "success", yet known for his dedication, some would say obsession for his surly craft and sullen art, the musician has enjoyed a decades long, essentially imaginary career as an award-winning singer songwriter, composer, and lyricist.
Todd Rundgren, Prince, Keith Richards, Taylor Swift, composer Ryuichi Sakamoto and that bloke H out of Steps represent a tiny fraction of the platinum selling artists who have neither worked with nor indeed even heard of him. (don't get him started on the "famous" people he actually has worked with)
Touched by the hand of COD and hailed as a genius by many of his multiple personalities, could Brine E. C. be the last true, undiscovered sage, poet and psychedelic prophet of the Rock Era ? Well, clearly not in this incarnation. But, replete with thinking persons lyrics and an armoury of off quay guitar sounds, he continues to write his darkly humorous and singular songs, if only, as he says. "for the benefit of future generations and those yet unborn" COD bless you Brine!
